Design / Code / AI

MarceloEduardo

The process is the product now

I’ve spent the last 30 years designing and building software, from games to large enterprise systems.

That work has taken me from digital agencies like Huge to hardware at Nokia, media at Globo.com, and my own consultancy, Work.co. I’m currently a managing director who refuses to become an Excel and PowerPoint pilot.

I’ve worked on Android TV for Google, Apple Music, YouTube TV, the Epic Games Store, and BTG’s banking app. I’ve also worked for Disney, HBO, Samsung, OnePlus, Nike, PlayStation, and more.

About.

Design will never be the same, but its foundations still matter.

I’ve moved from Notepad to Macromedia, Adobe, Sketch, and Figma. Now I work with a cluster of tools that help me guide a new way of designing and delivering software. The tools no longer define the process.

Professionally, I’m designing AI-specific tools for several industries. In my own time, I’m exploring everything AI makes possible: skills, complex harnesses, commercial tools, and software I build for myself.

Like many people, I felt the impact in early 2026. I’m now on the other side of that uncertainty. I believe the skills that made you a great professional still matter in this new reality.

I used to learn how to control a tool to get what I had in mind. Now I’m learning how to guide a model toward it, and how to recognize when it offers a better direction. There’s more room to explore than I’ve ever had before. Knowing what’s worth pursuing still takes judgment.

Questions I’m working on

Design harnesses
What context and feedback does a model need to help me design?
Teams building with AI
How can a team build faster and still understand the decisions behind the work?
Personal software
What would I build just for myself?

Lab.

Things I’m building.

I went from worrying about where AI would leave my craft to being excited about what I could build with it. These projects are how I’m figuring that out.

I don’t think interfaces are going away. There’s a lot left to design, and trying these ideas has made me want to do more of it. I’ll share progress and what I learn here.

01
Browser · Interaction design

Causo

My own Dia-inspired browser, built on WebKit instead of Chromium. It’s where I try the features and interactions I keep wishing my browser had.

Design exploration

  1. A browser I want to use

I use a browser every day. Building one lets me try changes to familiar interactions and see whether I actually prefer them.

02
Desktop shell · AI

Nomi

An AI-powered desktop shell. I’m trying to build a new desktop experience with AI at the center, without making it another chat window.

03
Team communication · AI + collaboration

Prosa

My take on a minimalist Slack. Team chat with AI and a shared canvas, kept as simple as I can make it.

Project direction

  1. Chat and a shared canvas

I’m keeping the scope small: team conversations, AI, and a canvas people can work on together.

04
Music learning · AI

Mar.Cello

A tool for learning cello and violin, with sheet music and feedback on your playing. It’s the furthest along of my projects.

Development notes

  1. From sheet music to MusicXML

We post-trained a model to convert sheet music into MusicXML, a format the software can read and work with.

  2. Feedback during and after practice

We post-trained a second model to improve grading. Feedback while you play is immediate but less precise. Grading a finished recording gives a much better assessment. Mar.Cello combines both.

05
macOS · Visualization

MarVis

A fast visualization system for macOS.
